Entry Requirements
No prior sewing knowledge is required. You don't need to own a sewing machine; sewing machines are available in class.
Course Outline
Month 1
- Introduction to Tailoring, Dressmaking, and Bespoke Tailoring.
- Learn how to take accurate measurements.
- Design your own dress using a croquis template.
- Theory lessons cover pattern drafting for different types of skirts(straight skirt, slim skirt, A-line skirt, flared skirt).
- Master the art of drafting different types of flared skirts (quarter, half & full).
- Create a skirt paper block for your unique design.
- Engage in practical classroom learning, where you’ll learn the step-by-step process of transferring paper patterns onto fabric.
- Transfer the skirt pattern to fabric and sew up the skirt for your design.
Month 2
- Theory lessons cover pattern making for front & back bodice (blouse), different types of necklines, creating princess seams and variations in princess seams.
- Theory lessons cover pattern making for basic sleeve and sleeve variations (puff sleeves, bell sleeves etc.)
- Create front and back bodice paper blocks for your unique design
- Create sleeve paper blocks for your unique design.
- Cut & sew the bodice design you’ve created.
- Cut & sew the sleeves you’ve designed.
- Combine the skirt, bodice & sleeves to complete your final dress project.
- Discover techniques for installing zippers, sewing hooks and eyes, and achieving impeccable garment hemming and finishing.

You don’t need to bring any equipment. All necessary sewing tools and machines are available in class. Just bring a CR book and a calculator (even the phone calculator would do).
Yes, students are required to bring their own fabric for the two sewings projects done in class (the skirt & the dress). We will provide guidance in class on choosing suitable materials.
Yes, our classes are held in a physical classroom to provide hands-on learning.
Each student is eligible for a maximum of 2 cover-up classes.
Yes, we offer an installment option to make the course more accessible.
